What is the eligibility to become a lecturer? Is M.Phil sufficient for it?
I have completed MBA(Fin). I am 30 years old and I can't apply for Net exam.I scored 62% in MBA and have 5-6 years of experience.

Hi,
In order to become a lecturer in any recognized university in India , one needs to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
1. Must have passed Masters Degree examination from a recognized university in the subject you would like to teach.
2. Must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in the masters degree examination.
3. Must have qualified National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by University Grant Commission mainly to recruit research assistants and professors in various streams of education.

2013-10-10 14:30:29You have the qualifying percentage and you have no problem on that count.Now, you think of qualifying for NET,or any other equivalent examination, in case it is existing in your State. -
Hello Namita, M.Phil and PHD is certainly licence for teaching. In some of the private college you can get job even after M.BA and you can gain teaching experience. And you can build expertise in your interested subject. Currently only few university is offering M.PHIL, If you want to go for regular M.Phil it will be for 1 year and for distance mode it will be 2 years. My advice will be to join some college and start teaching and simultaneously enroll for M.PHIL or PHD.
