    Hi,
    India has a rich cultural heritage that can go thousands of years back. A well experienced archaeologist has a perpetual demand to work on new projects of archaeology.
    The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is the major recruiter for archaeologists in the country both at the center and at the state levels as well. Students who are eligible can apply for suitable positions with ASI after qualifying the examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or by State Public Service Commission's (SPSC).

    Archaeology is an interdisciplinary activity that revolves around the investigation of material development made by earlier human societies.
    For degree or post graduate diploma courses in archaeology one should have completed his/her graduation in any discipline. However, graduates in social sciences like sociology, history, anthropology are given a preference.
    So, you can go ahead. Archaeology is a perfect career for those people who derive self-satisfaction in discovering a part of history and culture long lost in the dust of time.
