you can do MA economics not MSC because it is a science degree

If you are B.A. Economics than your masters degree in economics is known as M.A.Economics in India.

M.Sc. means Master of Science and Economics is not a science subject so you can't have such degree. Even for doing M.Sc. in available subjects, you have to have a B.Sc. degree.
