    TOEFL: The minimum scores are 79 for the internet-based test (iBT) and 550 for the paper-based test. However, individual departments may have their own minimum score requirements.

     All the courses and programs at the University at Buffalo are taught in English. Therefore, the University at Buffalo requires proof of proficiency in the English language. Each course has its own English proficiency minimum requirements. All international students must take one of the tests mentioned below and meet the university’s minimum score requirement.
