UIET Chandigarh considers GATE score for admission to ME/ M.Tech courses. Candidates without GATE scores can also get admission provided they meet the eligibility criteria and there is availability of seats. After qualifying GATE, aspirants need to participate in CCMT Counselling. Candidates must complete their bachelor's degree in relevant subjects with at least 60% aggregate to apply for MTech.

The admission process for MTech programs at UIET is based on the candidate’s GATE score and performance in the qualifying examination.

Preference is given to GATE-qualified candidates for all courses. Candidates with at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination will be given admission if seats remain vacant after GATE-qualified candidates’ admission.

In conclusion, GATE is the mandatory entrance exam to get admission to MTech at UIET.
