Additional second paper fee in GATE exam would be based on your category and would be equal to single paper fee (i.e. you have to pay each paper separately):
General/ OBC and other unreserved students: 1800 Rs per paper i.e. 2 papers add to 3600Rs.
Candidates who belong to Female/SC/ST/PwD: The fee per paper is 900, which means that they need to pay the total amount of 1,800 (two papers).
Should the member already have registered one paper and wishes to have a second ( of valid combination), he will be required to pay the supplementary fee that matches with the single paper fee of his/her section -
The facility to add the GATE second paper is available at the time of GATE registration. The fees for the GATE application form have been revised and is updated on the GATE's 2026 official website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The GATE 2026 registration fees is as follows -
