JoSAA is the short form for Joint Seat Allocation Authority. It acts as an agency under the Ministry of Education that administers. It manages the joint seat allocation for the 2023–24 academic year for 118 institutes. JoSAA holds common seat allotment of candidates based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced rankings. JoSAA 2024 will have seats available at the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and a few other GFTIs. JoSAA provides a level-playing field by making sure that seat allotment is done on the basis of merit and choice institutes and branches of study.
