    ECE is evergreen stream. If you want to study hardware and software both. And also it will be very good if you apply for government jobs.

    One must understand that electronics has not much progressed in India due to lack of manufacturing of electronic components. It is not like software where companies hire tens of thousands of students every year for development and support of western client's needs.
    For an average student, it is difficult to make a really bright career since campus is not up to the mark for core ECE companies.
