The hostel has a fixed curfew. Entry and exit are monitored, and you need permission for late returns or outings. Initially, it may feel a little strict, but you get used to it. Inside the hostel, the environment is lively: people studying in groups, some playing carrom or table tennis, and others just relaxing after classes. Weekends usually feel more free, so you can step out with permission or hang around the campus lawns. Overall, it's safe and structured, but not suffocating.

The admin here is very helpful, though sometimes you need to follow up (like any university). Whether it's documents, ID cards, fee queries, or hostel issues, they do respond as soon as possible. The student office is also quite approachable and tries to resolve things quickly.

Most subjects require at least one major project.

These projects are usually industry-oriented or research-based.

For example:

  • In management, it could be analysing a company's strategy, doing financial analysis, or conducting a consumer survey.

  • In psychology, it could be running experiments or administering psychometric tools.

  • In B.Tech, students may build prototypes or code-based applications.

Projects often require fieldwork, interviews, coding, or creating full presentations, but the professors guide you and are helpful.

Continuous evaluation happens through a combination of the following;

  • Quizzes
  • Class Assignments
  • Mid-term Exams

  • Group Projects
  • Presentations
  • Class Activities

Internal assessments carry 40-60% weightage, so you cannot ignore them. This spreads your effort throughout the semester and helps you understand concepts in parts rather than cramming everything at the end.

The curriculum at IILM University, Gurugram, is structured to be rigorous without being intimidating.

Each semester has a mix of core subjects and electives that first build a foundation and then gradually move to advanced concepts.

The curriculum may be a little more demanding and rigorous, not due to the final exams but rather due to the continuous assessments like case studies, presentations, quizzes, projects, or research papers. Sometimes there are also readings sent for you to read before the lecture and come prepared for discussions, so passive learning doesn't work here. Most courses are quite practical, thus also making it impor

Honestly, it's quite open here at IILM University.

Faculty members encourage students to visit their cabins for doubts or even career guidance. Most professors are friendly and welcoming. They talk to us like mentors, not strictly as “teachers.” Students are also assigned faculty members as "mentors." They can go to their mentors for any guidance or concerns, and there are also brief meetings held with the mentors on a monthly basis or so to keep them informed or raise your doubts.
