From my perspective, the "triple threat" of a good data scientist is:
programming knowledge
statistics knowledge
communication skills
You obviously have part 1 pretty well handled. You should probably look into learning a programming language that is more useful for exploratory data work, like Pyth

So is it OK if one doesn't have a degree or certificate in either of the three and yet have knowledge of all three?

There are a lot of ideal ways to become a Data Scientist. It depends on you totally how far you want to go in this specific field. For learning Data Science from scratch, you need to consider a few short-term courses from well-known organizations. For that, I would highly recommend Imarticus Lea
