It depends...According to me whether the project is live or dummy it doesn't really matters what matters is how well you understand your project , how well you present it etc

The motto of Live project mean Whatever u have learn in ur graduation or post graduation must appear in a concrete manner as a product to display. So at the time of Interview for getting a job u can show ur ability through ur live project.
