Yes, joint entrance exam is one of the mandatory exam required for admission in NITS, IITS, IIITs and many other premier institute of the India.

Yes, JEE exam is required for admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs, DTU, NSIT and many more.

For admission in all the government engineering colleges, JEE is the only way to get through. For other private colleges, there are various other exams conducted by the institute itself for admissions.
