    Marine biologists have scope to work as a scientist in Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute & Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture in its various research centers along the coast of India.
    There are academic institutions which teach the subject as well as carry out research in this vast field.
    Having proved one's self in research, one can also submit research proposals for funding various projects.
    The government has focussed on marine biodiversity studies & has set up separate units in each of the prospective research centers.
