The last year cut off of GATE exam is around 25-30 for general category students and around 20 for OBC category students. But generally cut off varies according to branch.

This depends upon your branch in 2018.
    Civil - 25
    Mechanical- 33
And, so on so. It is branch wise and you should not look about cut-off, you should prepare hard for GATE that gives you maximum marks.

    Hi,
Nothing more than "GATE Qualified" label, but this label can be a point of attraction in your Resume and if you score in top 500, you will be able to join IIT, NIT (which have very good placement) or PSU. Low mark in GATE make you to get admission in Low Ranked local colleges which have no placements. If you ask me, I will suggest you to give GATE exam.
