One must understand the significance and difference between these two.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Normally cutoff is assigned or declared when there is a huge mismatch between availability of seats and demand for these seats. Institutes invariably announce the cutoff so that too many students don't apply and get disappointed. This enables the institute to filter probable students to manageable levels. This leads to the analysis that for courses where the mismatch mentioned above is minimal, no cutoff is prescribed.
