What is the level of physics and maths that is asked in the entrance exam for pilot training?
Is it possible to fo for this exam if one does not have these subjects in 10+2?

The only educational requirement for CPL training is 10+2 with PCM as its subjects. No graduation or post graduation is required.
In case you do not have PCM at 10+2 level, you shall stand ineligible for the course.
There are although provisions for those candidates who do not have PCM at 10+2 level and are interested in pursuing CPL training. They should appear for maths to complete the trio of PCM in the next session of board exams. After clearing maths at 10+2 level, they shall qualify with PCM and hence shall fall eligible for the course.
The other may remain as additional subjects, although they are of no use.

7 years agoHello,
The eligibility for joining a flying school to get trained as a pilot is only 12th with physics and mathematics. Hence, the entrance examination where ever conducted will have physics and math at this level only. It can not be of any higher level. During the training, both these subjects are intensively taught since these help in the understanding of different principles of flight by the pilot. Aircraft undergoes different stresses and strains during its flight and if the pilot is aware of the physics behind it then panic could be replaced by knowledgeable actions. What actions to take is dictated by mathematics! Thus, it can be s...more -
Questions based on maths and physics are not only asked in the entrance exams of cadet pilot programmes, but it also is a requirement to have cleared 10+2 with these subjects in order to get a commercial pilot's license.
As a candidate would not have prior knowledge of aviation when they appear for the entrance exams, they will be given booklets based on basic aviation level maths and physics questions and explanations. Apart from this, the exam shall also have 10+2 level questions on maths and physics as it is required that a CPL candidate hold basic knowledge of Geometry, Trigonometry, basic arithmetics, calculus, Laws of Physics, mec...more -
Dear, the level of physics and maths in pilot Entrance exam is neither very difficult nor too easy. I would say that, they are at moderate level. And, if you have prepared very well, then you will not find any difficulty in attempting the question and solving it. The main topics of physics that can come in exam are; Classical Mechanics, Rotation & Gravitation, Oscillation and Waves, Communication System and Modern Physics. These are some of the suggested topics in Physics for pilot training Entrance Exam. For Maths, it is Geometry (Straight Lines, conics), Calculus (Complete Differentiation & Integration), and Statics.

You need to have Physics and Maths in Class 12th to be able to appear for the Pilot exams & that is the level at which the questions are pitched. The Pilot exams do not involve specific Physics and Maths papers, rather an understanding and interpretation of the same through subjects like Air Navigation, Radio Aids, Instruments & the Technical papers specific to your type of aircraft.
