As an industry Mass communications has done quite well in some previous years and is predicted to do the same for many years to come. The aspirants of this trade can look forward to working in public relations, television, films, editing, direction, publishing, journalism etc. The aspirant must first SEE if he/she is energetic, skillful in language, creative in thought process and a bit extroverted in nature to succeed in the rigors of the programs and career. Mass communication deals with the procedure of conveying or transmitting a message to the general population through media like radio, newspapers, magazines, television, internet and so on. However, journalism is concerned with the compilation and transmission of news through the print media and electronic media. And based on the different mediums, the field of journalism can be divided into three broad categories namely the print (I. e. the newspapers and magazines), electronic (I. e. T. V. and radio) and online journalism. So based on your interests you could even choose for a course specific to one of these mediums. As for mass communication there are media fields such as that of theater, radio, T. V. , filmmaking, journalism, advertising, public relations and others. In short mass communication covers a broad area of media while journalism focuses only on news. One can have a degree in journalism and mass communication from a good college and can enter in this profession. Mass Communication and journalism seems similar, but both are entirely different streams.
Mass Communication: It deals with the procedure of conveying or transmitting a message to the general population through media like radio, newspapers, magazines, television, internet and so on.
