What is the major difference between these two courses: BA LLB & LLB?

BA LLB is an integrated 5-year graduation course in law that offers a combined degree (BA and LLB). Admission to an integrated course opens after class 12th. National Law Universities in India are known to be the best institutions for pursuing an integrated BA LLB course. Please note that apart from BA, students can choose other integrated degrees as well, I.e. B.Com LLB, B.Sc LLB, etc. Admission to 5-year law colleges is done on the basis of entrance tests conducted in the month of May. CLAT is the common entrance test for securing admission in the NLU's and some other colleges also use the same score to grant admission. Private universities, like Amity and Jindal, etc., have their own entrance exams and admission is granted on the basis of marks scored in them. Sitting for the respective tests and getting marks is a prerequisite for getting admission. LLB, on the other hand, is a post-graduation 3-year course to be pursued after one had completed their graduation. Several colleges in India have the option of a post-graduate in law. The National Law Universities, however, do not have that option. Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, is one of the most reputed colleges to pursue law after graduation. Your choice of subject in graduation do not have a bearing on your admission to a 3-year law college. Most admissions are given on merit, decided by conducting an entrance test usually in the months of May and June every year.

Hey there, Well, the difference between the two is that former is an integrated 5-year course while latter is a 3-year course. The BA LLB integrated course fetches you two degrees I.e. BA and LLB in 5 years saving a year altogether. On the other hand, LLB a 3 years degree course can be done once you are done with your undergraduate degree of 3 years and then again for 3 years you need to take up law I.e. 6 years in total. Thus, logically one must go for an integrated course as it helps in saving 1 year and also you get two degrees. The traditional law course of 3 years (LLB) is preferable if you have already completed your undergraduate studies thus no use of investing 5 years. Also, the current trend is increasing for 5 years LLB course as you get better colleges such as NLU and also the level, standard and the result of degree course are better than the traditional 3-year course.
