What is the meaning of engineering?

Engineering is the application of mathematics and scientific, economic, social, and practical knowledge in order to invent, innovate, design, build, maintain, research, and improve structures, machines, tools, systems, components, materials, processes and organizations. The discipline of engineering is extremely broad and encompasses a range of more specialized fields of engineering, each with a more specific emphasis on particular areas of applied science, technology and types of application. Engineering is a broad discipline which is often broken down into several sub-disciplines. Engineering has 4 sub branches or core specializations: 1. Chemical. 2. Civil. 3. Electrical and 4. Mechanical engineering. Electrical Engineering is further grown into the fields such as power, electronics, telecommunications, instrumentation and control, etc. Computer science and information technology also got generated from electrical engineering. Engineering is a god career option. Admission to engineering degree in India is based on entrance examinations.
