Infectious diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi. The diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another. Some of them get transmitted by the animal or insect bites. Others are acquired by ingesting contaminated food or water or being exposed to the organisms in the environment.
