What is the meaning of Microbiology?

Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms such as viruses, bacteria, algae, fungi, slime moulds, and protozoa. The techniques used to study and manipulate these minute and mostly unicellular organisms differ from those used in most other biological investigations.
