What is the mess fee of LPU?

LPU hostels are the biggest in the country with the capacity to accommodate more than 10000 students. The hostel fees depend on the room that you select. It does not include food charges. They have 7 hostels for boys and 7 for girls as well. They also have 2 hostels for the faculty members. The hostels are quite good. The minimum hostel fees is 44000 annually excluding the mess fees. The food in the college canteen is very good and it will cost you around 50 rupees per plate.

As per my knowledge, More than 20000 students reside in the on-campus hostel and nearly ,15000 avail food service. All the hostel have their own mess facilities. All the mess inside the campus are providing same food, menu. In order to provide students with more flexibility and increased choice of food varieties, the university is providing more options to the students in selecting the mess, flexible food options etc. The details of various options being provided to the students are Choice of Menu Standard menu- The standard food menu is the same existing option being provided for breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea with snack with unlimited quantity for most of the items. Basic Menu-The students are now also given to opt for Basic Food menu which will have limited items with fixed quantity for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner only (No tea with snacks will be available in Basic food menu). Everyday Food menu gets changed. I had some friends from Kerala, Andra Pradesh, Telangana so they were provided south Indian food and I am fond of Idli, vada, dosa so sometimes we used to share the foods also. The food at LPU has a lot of variety because there are 350+ shops inside the campus providing all varieties of food from continental to south Indian and that too at very mediocre rates. Honestly, the mess food, they provide different types of food every day. The food was tasty. What you get is a planned diet, with salads, protein, vitamins, lentils, etc. No stale food, like the one which you might get in a restaurant, stalls, etc. Every meal is freshly prepared for a hot meal.

There are both Veg & Non-Veg mess facility available in Lovely Professional University. Multiple cuisines made available for the students of LPU as there are huge diversity of students available in LPU campus. For your information International cuisines are also available keeping in view that there are huge number of International students are available inside campus. Domestic cuisines are like North Indian / South Indian / Rajasthan / Haryanvi / Gujrati / Eastern / North-Eastern. There are following options available in LPU Mess : 1) Standard Mess - with four meals 2) Standard Mess - with three meals (I. e. without lunch) 3) Basic Mess - with three meals (I. e. without evening snacks) 4) Basic Mess - with two meals (I. e. without lunch and evening Snacks) 5) Ala Care - Choice of Dishes 6) Ala Care - Choice of Cuisines & Dishes Prices are varying according to your choices starting from Rs. 22000 per academic session (approximately. 10 Months excluding vacation). Not only the Mess food, there is multiple other food options available inside LPU campus like around 400 Food Kiosk, branded Food Giants like Cafe Coffee Day, Dominos etc. I hope your query is resolved.

Lovely Professional University provides their own residential facility with good management policies. I am myself a hostler at LPU, and it is nice to stay there rather than staying outside LPU. They offer number of ways to choose a room and provide mess facility too. They also have a nice hygiene facility and water coolers are also freely available at each level. To the best of my knowledge, upto 2020, there were two types of mess facilities available such as: Annual Charges: Basic: 26000 / (includes three meals without evening snacks) : 22000 / (includes two meals without evening snacks & Lunch) Standard: 32000 / (includes all four meals) : 27000 / (includes three meals without Lunch)Non Veg: 23000 (Sem) /25000 (Sem) (Former if opted before Aug 1 & latter after that) Laundry: Rs. 4000 /Other options like regional food and a la cart also available. They may have to update this information for the year 2021.
