What is the method to choose the best college for engineering?

Hi Sejuti, If you want to pursue engineering, it is important that you consider your aptitude and history of college as well before making the final choice and also, you have to choose the college by your strength and goals.

Choosing a college can become relatively simple if you decide NOT to make it the crucial decision. Instead make college choice a by-product of choosing your major. Good thing is, you already said you like engineering. Let's assume you are not sure what kind. Let's also assume this is for undergraduate studies. Now once you know you want to study engineering, search for colleges which have the following attributes: Diverse faculty in most of their engineering departments. (If there are 5000 students and 5 faculty doing a ton of research work, expect to be taught by TAs) That being said, look at project collaborations between faculty and industries. Example : Dr. ABC gets a 1.5 million grant to work with xYz industries in development of a invisibility cloak. Being involved in these projects will build your tech skills and your network. Geographic location : Proximity to relevant industries Flexibility: You're starting off, how easy is it to switch majors, say from industrial engineering to software? What if your interests change? In-person and cold - email: Communicate, and communicate! Meet the advisors, e-mail them with * (but atleast slightly relevant) questions, attend information sessions, research the school online, try getting hold of a professor or two. Deep research will always help.
