In order to get admission for the M.Tech Educational Technology programme at NIIT University candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the university. Candidates should pass Class 10, 12, Engineering with a 50% aggregate, respectively. Pre-service applicants are required to appear for the NIIT University ET Admission Competency Test and a subsequent screening interview.

To be eligible for the M.Tech Educational Technology programme at NIIT University, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
- Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor's degree programme are also eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have a valid GATE score or NU ET (NIIT University Engineering Test) score.
