    The basic prerequisite for BTech admission at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) is normally passing the 10+2 examination with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Computer Science. In addition, candidates must have a valid score from the institute's JEE Main or Thapar Entrance Test (TIET). Meeting these requirements secures acceptance into TIET's BTech programmes.

  • Thapar University admission to BE/BTech courses is both entrance and merit-based. TIET 50% seats will be filled on the basis of candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam and the rest 50% is based on the merit of marks secured in Class 12 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject. So, for JEE-qualified candidates, the minimum eligibility is to pass Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% for SC/ ST candidates).
