You have not mentioned which board so my answer is for CBSE board. For JEE Mains, from last year onwards, marks are not rank deciding factor. Thus if you have 60% then you are eligible for admission in NIT and IIIT. But for Advanced, you have to score a minimum of 75%.

And on the basis of JEE Mains score, You can get NITs, IIITs and other top colleges according to counselling. Only after cracking JEE advance you will get IITs.
