The admission in VIT are based on MHCET and JEE-Main ranks. The basic eligibility criteria for BTech courses is HSC with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories). There are total 180 seats in Mechanical and 144 seats are filled through the MHCET. The last year MHCET cutoff ranks and scores for this college is as under:-
    1. Ist round 6437 (128)
    2. 2nd round 4051 (139)
    JEE-Main ranks and scores:
    1. Ist round 1949 (123)
    2. 2nd round 2120 (120)
    3. 3rd round 2227 (118)
