Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT in the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, the fee goes higher. The first category, closed till 15,000 rank and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there is a 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, you have to pay more for that. -
On an average, you need to score above 60-70 marks to get into VIT campuses. But for the main branch, aim for 100 plus marks. You can even check VIT 2017 cut-off details.
