    hi,

The minimum score required to qualify each section of the LPU-NEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test) varies based on the course and academic year. LPU does not explicitly define a separate cut-off for each section, as the overall performance is taken into account for admission. Segment-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) is a concept used by NEST to assess a candidate's performance in a given segment. SMAS is not a set quantity. It is determined annually based on test takers' performance in that specific segment. Twenty percent of the top 100 scorers in that section's average score is the SMAS. For instance, the SMAS for Chemistry would be 43 x 0.20 = 8.6 if the average score of the top 100 students in the Chemistry part was 43.

The exam authority has not mentioned any section-wise cut off marks for the NEST exam. Hence there is no minimum qualifying or passing marks in the exam.

However, out of the four sections - the best three scores of the subject section i.e. Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be taken for preparation of the merit list.

Hence applicants need to try to solve the questions from all four sections as the section from which applicants will score less will be ommiited and will not be consideration for preparing the merit list.
