Selected candidates are required to complete their admission formalities as per the admission process declared by the Jamia Millia Islamia. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend the counselling as per the schedule and bring the following documents at the time of admission. 1. Marksheet of qualifying exam (Class 12, graduation, postgraduation) 2. Age proof based on the Certificate of high school/secondary school or equivalent examination 3. Reserved category certificate 4. Character Certificate 5. Permanent address proof 6. Experience and No Objection Certificates (In case of working candidates) 7. Admit Card.

The JMI B.Des entrance exam has two stages: a written test and a portfolio review with an interview. The written test includes topics like general knowledge, drawing skills, design aptitude, logical reasoning, and English comprehension. To prepare, focus on sketching, creative thinking, current affairs, and building a strong design portfolio. Practice with NID/NIFT materials and reasoning books.
