It is an interdisciplinary specialisation that combines different fields such as Engineering, Analytical Chemistry Biotechnology, Quality Control, Health and Nutrition, and Food Safety Management. You can get job in various food companies because they want people who can test the quality of food. You can also get job in research areas in this field. Also there are very less people in this field, so there are a lot of chances of success in this field.
