The Central Government of India increases from time to time because of the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA). Recently the government of India increased the DA to employee to 50 % of the basic pay. This allowance is provided to compensate for the inflation and rising cost of living.
The Dearness Allowance (DA) is linked to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). DA is a cash allowance paid to employees and pensioners by the government. It is a percentage of the basic salary and is directly related to the cost of living.
