Physics 

Master's degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate (first class) or an equivalent grade point

For candidates having a four-year BS/ BTech or an M.Tech degree in Engineering, the norm may be relaxed if he/ she can demonstrate sufficient mastery of the fundamentals through written tests, interview, etc.

Economics 

Master's degree in any discipline with at least 55% aggregate

English

Master's degree in English or allied discipline with at least 55% aggregate

History 

Master's degree in the disciplines of History, Archaeology and Museum Studies with at least 55% aggregate

Candidates who have completed MPhil can also apply
