What is the placement percentage for forensic science course?

Due to increase in crime rate and criminals, the scope of Forensic Science is increased exponentially. There are lots of job opportunities in the field of Forensic Science. The need of forensic scientists is huge all around the world, especially in India. Some of the forensic scientists visit the crime scene to collect the evidence themselves and another one work in a forensic laboratory to perform analysis on objects. In the forensic laboratory, they testify as expert observers in both criminal and civil cases and can work for either the defense or the prosecution. Forensic scientists can be employed in the government sector. They work in different law enforcement agencies and investigation departments such as police, investigative services of state and central government and legal system. Some of the private agencies also employed those candidates who have some qualification in this field. A trained forensic scientist may hire by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) & Intelligence Bureau (IB). You can also work as a freelancer as forensic scientists specializing in one segment & can be paid much. You can also work as a legal counselor after gaining experience as a Forensic Scientist. Career Prospects: Lectureship in College, Junior/senior research fellow, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Central government. Forensic Sciences Labs, Hospitals, Private Detective Agencies, Dope testing labs, CSIR Labs, pathology labs, agriculture, quality assurance divisions in industries, Self Employed (Establishing small scale industries Production and manufacturing of various CSI kits), Private Consultants for giving Expert opinions. I can help you better if you specify a college you desire for. If I talk about the scope of Forensic Science in India, it is not really a good paying field. Forensic Science is all about how you apply knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology to solve a case. It's not in demand. The starting salary is around 3 to 4 lacs PA.
