What is the placement record? Can I pursue CSE in LPU? How is the academic environment?

Question

Shilakha · Answer

I remember sitting in the hostel mess when a junior asked me the same question about Lovely Professional University before choosing CSE. I told him honestly that placements are decent. Some students get really good packages, but most people end up in the average range. In the end, it depends on how strong your skills are. For CSE, it's a good choice if you're ready to code, build projects, and stay consistent. The academic environment is active with a lot happening, but what you get out of it really depends on how involved you are.

Sampreet Kaur · Answer

LPU can be considered for CSE if the aim is to build a career in software development or other technology fields. The course includes technical subjects and practical learning, while projects and industry exposure can help students understand how concepts are used in real work. The academic environment offers opportunities to learn, but students need to practise coding regularly and strengthen their problem solving skills. Placement opportunities are available, though outcomes vary according to skills, academic performance, specialisation and interview preparation. Before choosing, check the latest official placement report for CSE, including the number of students placed and the roles offered.

Every year, the university offers thousands of job placements to its students, whereby the best students receive excellent job packages whereas other students get offers for jobs in software development, data sciences, cybersecurity, and other relevant fields. In terms of academics, the atmosphere is dynamic because of various coding challenges, hackathons, industrial projects, internships, and specialization in technology.

Samreen Begum · Answer

Yes, you can absolutely pursue CSE at Lovely Professional University, if you're actually into coding, software, AI, or the whole tech vibe. The CSE placement side is usually seen as one of the better parts of LPU too, with recruiters like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, IBM, and Accenture coming regularly. In the more recent placement updates, people mention CSE average packages are roughly ₹7–8 LPA , and the students who perform really well tend to get offers much higher like ₹40–60 LPA or even beyond that range. Academically it feels competitive but not overly strict, you still get coding contests, hackathons, projects, internships, and training that's kind of industry-focused. Still, most students do best when they do more than just attend classes—like building practical skills on their own, and doing it consistently. Overall, if you're serious about improving technical ability, and you're actually practicing coding day to day, then LPU can give you enough exposure and chances to shape a strong career in CSE.
