There is a 100% placement record for all the branches in BMSCE. So, everybody gets a job. However, if you are looking for a higher paying job, it is preferable to go for some other branch such as EC or CS. The average pay package is around Rs.3 lakh pa and the highest in telecom core companies being around Rs. 6 lakhs. However, if you wish to choose non-core companies, you can get a higher pay package. My senior in telecom got placed in the merchant navy for a pay package of Rs. 18 lakh pa. For your rank you may get into the telecom branch in perhaps the second round. It depends upon the cut off of this year.
    All the best.

As per your rank, you can get a seat in BMSCE telecom branch. And coming to placements, 90% of the students get placed. Average package is around 3 to 4 lakhs per annum and highest is around 7 to 10 lakhs.
