The assistant is a clerical-level job in the BSPHCL. The probationary period for a BSPHCL Assistant is around two years. In this period, the selected assistance gets trained to do work like documentation, preparation of an electricity bill, and learning about Bihar State Power Holding Corporation Limited. If the candidates successfully pass their training, they get a permanent posting as BSPHCL assistants. If they do not complete their training, BSPHCL will extend their probationary period. They receive their salaries during this period.

Probation period tests the performance of the candidate. If the performance is found satisfactory, then the candidature is made permanent or in either case, he is terminated. For BSPHCL Assistant Operator it is 2 years from the date of appointment.
