What is the procedure of counselling at Jamia Millia Islamia?

<p>The JMI Entrance Exam counselling process is conducted offline. The step-wise procedure to participate in the JMI Entrance Exam counselling process is given below:</p><ul><li>The list of selected candidates, as well as those on the waiting list, is displayed on the official website.</li><li>Selected candidates will have to remain present on the counselling day along with the required documents.</li><li>In programs where interview was conducted, a separate list of candidates shortlisted for counseling along with cut off will be displayed. Such candidates have to appear in their respective department for counselling.</li><li>Selected candidates will have to fill &lsquo;Student Registration Form&rsquo;.&nbsp;The form can be obtained from the concerned Deans office/Department/Centre). They need to fill the form by giving all the details and also indicate their choice for courses.</li><li>On the day of counselling, candidates will be required to be present with all the relevant document and application fee.&nbsp;The original certificates will be returned after verification.</li><li>In case where there are many courses/branches, candidates will be allotted as per the preference filled in the application form.</li><li>For upgrading the course/branch, candidates have to fill a form at the time of admission if they want to retain the allotted course/branch or want to upgrade.</li><li>Upgradation of course/branch will be done on the basis of merit.</li><li>Additional lists of candidates selected from the waiting list will be displayed as per their merit list if the seats remain vacant after the counselling is over.</li><li>JMI may also conduct spot registration for admission from the list of selected and waitlisted candidates if the seats of any course remains vacant but the seat allotment will be subjected to the eligibility criteria fulfilled by the candidate.</li></ul>
