What is the procedure to apply for executive MBA at IIMs? When should I start planning for admissions?

Executive Programme in Business Management (EPBM) - Programme is equivalent to EMBA at IIMs are to help working executives understand basic concepts of management. It helps candidates to build and develop general management skills and management functional competencies. Courses have unique blend of theoretical knowledge and case discussion that equips future managers to develop deep understanding of required skills and their application. The general eligibility criteria are as follows: (a) Bachelor Degree or equivalent (b) A valid GMAT score (GMAT/GRE scores are valid for three/ five years from the date to the application deadline date of the round in which candidate is applying. (c) Some IIMs have minimum age criteria (d) Minimum 5 years of full time work experience after completion of graduation. Candidate selection is based on assessment based on following criteria: (a) Academic background (b) Professional experience (c) GMAT score (d) Personal interviews (e) Statement of Purpose (f) Recommendation An overall assessment is made on the basis of all these factors for selecting candidates for admission. The Indian Institute of Management is a new entrant in the elite league of IIMS. The institute is set up with the objective of providing quality management education while sensitizing students towards the needs of the society. The Institute also offers a two year weekend Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGPM) for working executives. Admission criteria is very dynamic for executive MBA program and keeps on changing year on year. IIMs take only relevant work experience into consideration. For example, suppose a candidate has a total experience of five years, out of which two years in Information Technology industry, two in operations and one in finance. Below is the detailed information about the minimum criteria- -In Graduation, minimum 50% is required. Minimum 5 years of work experience - Valid entrance score -SOPs stating everything important about the candidate - Reference of the people in industry/academics. Post this, a candidate is called for an interview. After the performance, review is based on experience and other qualities. A final score is prepared and offer is made to the candidates depending on the seats.

The basic criteria for applying to the programme are: *Graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent. *Minimum 5 years of work experience. *GMAT or GRE score. *SOP (highlight their future goals and achievements). *Two references. Shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview. The interview panel will consist of two faculty members of IIM-B and an IIM-B alumnus. The interview panel will evaluate each candidate's performance, on the basis of the quality of experience/diversity, leadership qualities and social sensitivities. The Admission offer will be made to a certain percentage (depending on the seat availability and satisfying the minimum cut-off for the composite score and/or for any factor score ) of applicants in the merit list based on their composite total score. I would like to thank you for asking this question but you have not mentioned in which year you are and currently pursuing what stream. By the way, the procedure for getting into an IIM is to crack CAT (Common Admission Test) or GMAT above 95 percentile followed by GD-Pi & a minimum of 5-years of work experience is required. For application in CAT, you need to have 50% in the graduation. There is no specific time frame to start your preparation. Therefore, you need to understand your capacity and pulse in which possible position you are standing and what is the secret sauce for cracking the competitive exams. You should plan from the second year itself and start net practice.

Hi, The procedure is pretty simple. All you need to do is give GMAT and then apply individually to each of the IIMs in which you are interested. They conduct a standard interview to further screen you. Check out the websites of each of the institutes for deadlines. Executive MBA is a very good option if you have good industry standard experience of at least 5 years and above. CAT score of 96%ile and above along with excellent academics would be sufficient to get calls from IIM-A, B or C. For IIM-A, following are the basic criteria for the PGPX application: A) A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline. (Minimum 15 years of study as per the education system in India i.e. KG to 12+2+3 or 4 as the case may be). B) The minimum age of 27 years as on 31st March of the year in which the PGPX programme commences. (E.g. for PGPX 17-18 commencing in April 2017, the candidate should have completed 27 years of age by March 31, 2017, i.e. must be born on or before March 31, 1990.) There is no upper age limit. C) Valid GMAT score (GMAT scores are valid for five years from the test date to the application deadline date of the round in the candidate is applying. For example, the earliest acceptable GMAT test date for the two rounds are Round 1: September 11, 2011 and Round 2: November 14, 2011). To ensure that your scores are sent directly to IIM-A, please select Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, one-year Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) as one of the five programmes for which the GMAT results have to be sent from the menu provided by GMAT before the start of the test.
