What is the procedure to become a zoologist?

Zoologists are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a field such as zoology, biology, wildlife biology or ecology with coursework in anatomy, wildlife management, cellular biology or even botany, physics and chemistry. Many zoologists specialize in certain species and so will have advanced coursework in those fields. Some of these areas of specialization include: 1. Entomology: the study of insects. 2. Herpetology: the study of reptiles and amphibians. 3. Ichthyology: the study of fish. 4. Mammalogy: the study of mammals and 5. Ornithology: the study of birds. Some zoologists are identified by certain aspects of zoology, such as ecologists, who study the relationship between animals and their habitats, and evolutionary biologists, who study the origins of species and the changes in the species over time. Career advancement: A Master’s degree is needed for higher-level positions, and a Ph.D is required for many jobs, such as leadership roles in most research projects and teaching at a university because competition is so high in the job market, even lower-level jobs may go to the candidate with a graduate degree. Some employers require a minimum of a Master’s degree for any job above an entry-level position.
