What is the procedure to become an IFS officer?

Hi, the curriculum for preparation to appear for Indian Forest Services examination conducted under UPSC is quiet vast in nature but yet accomplishable. The IFS exam takes place in 3 rounds- preliminary exam, main exam, and interview. The curriculum for preliminary examination is same as that of UPSC (IAS, IPS) exam including History, geography, economics, and political Science, international relations, ecology, Science and technology and current affairs in detail along with an aptitude test. Upon, selection for Mains round, you need to make a choice out of list of subjects that you have to study in detail along with all other subjects that were part of prelims like botany, zoology, agriculture, physics, chemistry, maths etc. You can choose any two subjects from the list. And the final round is interview. All the Best.

Hello Dear, For Indian Foreign Services and other all India Services you need to appear the UPSC Civil Service Examination. This is the only mode of direct recruitment. Indirect recruitment is done through promotion of state public service employees.

To appear first in UPSC, civil service exam is the only mode to get the post of IFS officer is Union of India.

Hi,To be eligible for becoming an IFS officer, the candidate must possess a degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification.
