Admission procedure for PGDM consists of a GD/CD and a PI. Yes, there are some colleges like Welingkar which would be conducting CDs. There isn't much of a difference between a CD & a GD in terms of the format. Just that in a CD, a generic case study would be presented before you and you need to come up with the required solutions. They can be related to any field like HR or sales department of a company, maintenance problems of a garden, etc. Browse through the internet for B-school case studies and you can get a good number of topics. Hope it helps and good luck!

For admission into PGDM at a reputed Institute, you need to take entrance exams like CAT, XAT etc. Following that you need to prepare for the interview, GD, case study etc. Yes, it's true that at some colleges, GD is replaced by case study. To prepare for it, just browse the internet for popular MBA case studies and their analysis.

For the preparation of group discussions, you need to look back at least last 12 months top headlines like Modi Government, Trump as President, De- monetisation, Terrorism these are going to be common topics. Apart from these, you need to be ready for abstract topics too like Blue, Red Face like that.
