    The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the top universities in India where admission is two tier. To begin with, the candidates need to clear the JEE Main by appearing in the top 2, 50, 000 successful candidates. Eligibility also has specific Class 12th board marks (aggregate of 75 % or 65 per cent SC/ST/PwD or in top 20 percentile of the board).Second, the candidates who pass JEE Main, only, are able to write the highly competitive entrance-exam JEE Advanced held by one of the IITs. Lastly, according to JEE advanced ranking, the candidates undergo JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling to get admission to an IIT
