What is the proper key to be an Animatior?

I have completed my Master degree in general course.And at present am a student of Multimedia.My intention is to be an Animator.Though I like Graphic Design also.I know Drawing well.But have no certificate for this.Will this create any problem for my future?Or,can I still be an animator?
