The eligibility requirements varies course-wise. Candidates need to pass a minimum of Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG programmes. Below is SOET, CMR University eligibility criteria:

Course	Common Eligibility
BTech	2nd PUC/ Class 12 or equivalent exam with English as one of the languages and secured at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for Karnataka reserved category candidates) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computers/ Home Science/ Geology/ Statistics
MTech	BE/ BTech in CSE/ ISE/ IT/ ECE/ EEE/ Mechanical/ Civil or MSc CS/ IS/ IT/ Mathematics or MCA with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates)
PhD	Master’s degree or a professional degree with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL) or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale
