    It may be stated that direct recruitment for the post of sub-deputy inspector of schools (the lowest administrative post) is made by Public Service Commission of the state. For the posts of deputy inspector of schools and headmaster of government normal schools as well as high schools, recruitment is done on the basis of promotion through the departmental selection committee for 40% of the vacancies. The remaining 60% of the vacancies are filled in through direct recruitment by the state Public Service Commission.
