Allahabad University has not been ranked but it is one of the most prominent universities in India. University of Allahabad was established in 1887. Allahabad University is recognised by UGC. Allahabad University offers full-time courses at UG, PG, Diploma and Doctorate levels in the streams of Science, Humanities & Social Science, Accounting & Commerce, Law, Business & Management Studies, IT & Software, Design, Engineering, Teaching & Education, and Mass Communication & Media. Allahabad University also offers scholarships to students based on need, merit, and reservation categories.

As of September 2021 Allahabad University is ranked among the top universities in India. However specific rankings can vary depending on the source and the criteria used for evaluation. In the NIRF 2021 ranking Allahabad University was placed in the 96-100 range among all Indian universities.
