It varies from institute to institute. For example, IIMs ask for a minimum of 5 years of work-ex whereas Symbiosis colleges ask for a minimum of 3 years work-ex. -

Although the minimum work experience required for applying to exceutive MBA will vary from one institute to another, but when applying to any well reputed institutes, it is suggested to have about minimal 3 years valid work experience.

The minumum experience could be al ittle requirment but what is really essential for achieving success after Executive MBA is whether the organization or the field in which you are working is prepared to give you larger responsibilities & pay packed just on the basis of you completing Executive MBA. If you are new in your job then & if your conditions permit then the better option would be to go foe 2 year MBA course. Really speaking Executive MBA is good only for candidates who have had large experience and are somehow finding it difficult to get promotion due to lack of MBA degree. So think again Debasmita.
