What is the required qualification to become a collector?

Hi, The Central government appoints collectors in each district for handling various administrative purposes in a district. They are the highest government officials in a state. Candidates who aspire to become a collector should qualify the civil services exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. They should first qualify the preliminary test called Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). This preliminary test is common for all civil services IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS. Those who qualify in this test can attend the main exam and interview. Candidates who have completed their degree from central or state or deemed or open university are eligible to apply for this exam. Those who have completed degree through correspondence education or distance education are also eligible to apply for this exam. The age of the candidates applying for this exam should be between twenty one and thirty years.
