27% of the seats in IIMs are reserved for people belonging to non-creamy layer in OBC. Non-creamy layer refers to the comparatively poorer and less educated members of Other Backwards Classes (OBC). People belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for quotas in various institutions as per the rules
